The house got its name in honor of the outstanding tailor of his time, Felix Zavoisky, who lived here at the beginning of the 20th century. Felix was born in the small town of Doubravnik, located in the southeastern part of the Czech Republic, in 1848 ... After leaving school, Felix decided to go to Austria to study tailoring, but fate threw him first to Vienna and then to Paris, where he worked as an apprentice. Felix always tried to be the best in his field, gaining knowledge and experience from his teachers. Over time, the orders of the most demanding customers began to be entrusted to him. He dressed nobles and diplomats, he sewed outfits for kings, and was quite famous in the highest secular circles. The atelier in which the master Zavoisky worked was considered the best on the Riviera, Persia, America and India. For their 50th birthday, Felix and his wife Maria Shtempierova decided to settle in the city of Karlovy Vary and open your own atelier here, as well as pass on experience to students. Felix bought a plot of land on the main street of the city and ordered the architect Karl Heibek to draft the building. In 1900 the construction was completed and the master and his wife moved to a new house. A few months later, Felix was given permission to open a studio. On the ground floor there was a cozy reception area and dressing rooms. The entire second floor was given over to a workshop. On the third floor there was a residential apartment in which Zavoisky's family lived, and his wife's art workshop was also located here. Other floors were leased to regular clients and guests of the city. In 1911 Zavoisky and his wife decided to move to the Adriatic coast. Soon after selling the house, the master returned to his native Doubravnik, where he was engaged in charity work. After Felix left the house, more than one owner changed the house. Through constant minor alterations, the building was able to retain its unique architectural style.
