Rating: 8,0/10 (5498 votes) The Church of St. Mikulas was erected in the 18th century by father and son Dizenhofers. The church is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful buildings of the Prague Baroque. At the main portal of the cathedral there are statues made by the sculptor Antonin Braun in the 18th century. The author of the frescoes was the Bavarian Peter Azam. The main decoration of the temple – a large crystal chandelier donated by Nicholas II. The chandelier was made in the shape of an imperial crown. The gilded interior of the church is decorated with an old organ, decorated with figures of angels. The stained glass windows were decorated with images of St. Nicholas and St. Wenceslas.
