The bridge was built on the site of the old Roman bridge of Aurelius by Pope Sixtus the Fourth in the years 1473-1479. The bridge connects the Trasteveri area with the popular Campo dei Fiori nightlife quarter. Nowadays, the Sisto Bridge is the site for filming clips, films and other performances.
