Rating: 8,2/10 (1033 votes)  The building of the Montenegrin National Theater is of both cultural and architectural value: it is one of the most beautiful buildings of modern architecture in the city. The construction of the theater dates back to 1969. Since then, it managed to burn down once, but was restored and today it is actively functioning. This is the only professional theater in Montenegro. If we talk about the theater repertoire, but the orientation towards Russian authors is noticeable quite clearly, performances based on Gogol's, Chekhov's and Ostrov's plays almost never disappear from the programs. The operatic troupe of the theater is very interesting, regularly organizing performances.
