The People's Museum of the History of Mirgorod is located on Gogol Street, on the territory of the Khorol sanatorium, in a separate building on the second floor. The museum was opened to visitors in 1998. The exposition of the People's Museum of the History of Mirgorod was dedicated to the history of the health resort, as well as to its founder - zemstvo doctor I.A. Zubkovsky. Zubkovsky was the first who, back in 1914, was able to assess the healing properties of the Mirgorodskoy mineral water. This happened after, on the initiative of the city government in the city of Mirgorod, the drilling of an artesian well began to provide the city with tap water.

Initially, the brackish water from the source was considered unfit for drinking and was used only for external use. But despite this, I.A. Zubkovsky still sent water samples for analysis, which confirmed that in terms of chemical properties it can be compared with the healing mineral waters of such world resorts as Baden-Baden and Aachen. In Soviet times, I. Zubkovsky gave all of himself to create the Mirgorod resort.

The exposition of the People's Museum of the History of Mirgorod contains interesting exhibits, including a model of the first hydropathic establishment of Mirgorod, which was opened in 1917, antiquities - jugs, a spinning wheel, icons, abacus, towels, old photographs of the city and Mirgorod deposits of mineral water, as well as various books, gifts, diplomas, certificates of honor, certificates of the resort and other documents that eloquently tell about the history of this resort.
