In addition to the famous Museum of Austrian History, which contains a copy of the document on the first Austrian lands, as well as other important documents related to the history of the state, Neuhofen am Ybbs has many other attractions. Perhaps the most popular tourist attraction in Neuhofen is a small castle-villa surrounded by an English-style park. The castle was built in 1748-1772 and rebuilt in 1850 during the reign of Countess Pauline Zichy. The water mill, which is traditional for these places, has been preserved since the 19th century in Neuhofen an der Ybbs. It is a neat wooden structure that can still be used for its intended purpose. Among the significant local sacral monuments can be noted the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The late Gothic temple with an eastern tower consists of several parts, built at different times. The choir of the temple was built in 1400, the nave was built later - in the third quarter of the 15th century. The interior decor was updated in the second half of the 19th century. Another spacious church dedicated to St. Vitus, called Veit in Austria, is located on a hill above the village of Neuhofen an der Ybbs. It was erected in the period from 1696 to 1718 by the architect Jacob Prandtauer. The baroque nave is dominated by a magnificent Gothic altar. The modest chapel of St. John of Nepomuk will also be interesting to see. It is a rectangular sacred building with a steep gable roof, dating from the middle of the 19th century, is a repository of a valuable statue depicting the patron saint of the chapel, created in the second quarter of the 18th century.
