Initially, the estate was called "Borovoe" - according to its location in a pine forest, the second name - "Lvovo" - it received the name of the owner - Prince Georgy Alexandrovich Lvov. Was born in 1879. In 1904, Georgy graduated from the St. Petersburg Institute of Railways and worked in his specialty. First - on the Libavo-Romenskaya railway, and since 1906 - on the Nikolaevskaya. After 4 years, he already worked as a senior auditor and was the III deputy chief. But in 1911 Lvov left the service and started an entrepreneurial activity, in which he quickly succeeded. In 1912, Georgy Aleksandrovich became one of the directors of the board of the "Neft" partnership, the largest in Russia in the production, processing and trade of oil and oil products, and from that time all his work was associated with this industry. rapidly developing and bringing quick profits. He was a major shareholder, was a member of the board of directors, and sometimes even founded Russian oil companies: the oil industrial and trading company “Ter-Akoiov IN”, a syndicate of S.G. Lianozova, the Emba society and many others. All these companies explored, extracted and refined oil in all oil-bearing corners of the country (Baku, Ukhta, Grozny, Fergana, Emba), in addition, transported and traded oil and oil products. Lviv, having become close to the tycoons of the oil industry, turns into a major financial figure, industrialist, owner of securities and owner of a million dollar fortune.

For recreation and reception of business people G.А. Lvov needed a country residence where, far from prying eyes and the bustle of the capital, he could not only relax, but also arrange business negotiations. The prince's choice fell on the Luga region, and in 1918 he acquired a plot of land of 118 acres, located between the Cheremenets lake and the road from Luga to the Cheremenets monastery. It was not only secluded and very picturesque, but also located next to the railway, which provided an excellent connection with the capital.

The author of the estate was S.P. Ivanov, who had only a senior technician diploma, but managed to build an extraordinary estate. Its layout, clear and simple, has been conceived with the terrain in mind. In a short time, the steep coastal slope, covered with pine trees, was trimmed with wide ledges, as if cut into the forest, which served as a park. On the middle site, a neoclassical stone house was built, built according to a 3-part scheme. The building in Borovoye differed from the best examples of this architectural trend of those years by the reproduction on the facades of almost the entire alphabet of classicist decor. Its abundance and rich colors, expressed in white elements on a yellow background, gave the “merchant's” house, in fact, a festive and entertaining character. Lunches and receptions were held on the open terraces.

However, Georgy Alexandrovich did not have to use this country estate for long. His will, made shortly before the 1917 revolution, is very interesting. In case of death, he asks to transfer his real estate "Katerinovka" in the Vitebsk province to his mother, sell the rest of the real estate and deposit the funds into the estate fund to create an inviolable capital. The income was divided between his wife, mother and the Lvov family charitable foundation; after the death of his wife and mother, the money they had not spent should have entered a charitable organization, which was appointed to the Society for the Fight against Leprosy, the Society of Russian Doctors to fight tuberculosis, the Society of Psychiatrists and for the education of a boarding school for street children in the St. Petersburg province ...

After the revolution, a home for the homeless was built in Borovoye. In 1924-1931 the estate was used as a branch of the Krasny Val health resort, and in 1940 it was turned into the NKVD Rest House, which resumed its activities after the Great Patriotic War. Currently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs "Borovoye" sanatorium is located here.
