Cape Utyos, also known as Cape Plaka, is located on the southern coast of Crimea, east of Mount Ayu-Dag, between the resort settlement Partenit and the city of Alushta, on the shores of Kuchuk-Lambatsky Bay. The height of the cape is 50 m, the length is 330 m.

From the Greek, the name of the cape "Plaka" is translated as "flat stone". In 1947, the cape received the status of a natural monument. This natural, original composition in the shape of a mushroom is very similar in profile to a Pekingese dog. In ancient times, a fortification and a lighthouse Lambas were located here.

Cape Cliff (Cape Plaka) consists mainly of greenish porphyrites - stones of magmatic origin, which are characterized by a porphyry structure. Scientists have calculated that during the formation of the Utyos (Plaka) massif, the pressure in the alloy was about 1 thousand. kg per square centimeter.

During an underwater survey of the territories around the cape, three areas with accumulations of archaeological material were found. From the top of Cape Plaka, an unusually impressive and beautiful panorama opens from one side to Ayu-Dag, Partenit and the whole of Kuchuk- Lambat Bay, and on the other - to Karabakh and Mount Kastel. From the observation deck of the cape, you can see the Kuchuk-Lambatsky stone chaos.

Another attraction of the cape is the remains of the family crypt of the Gagarins and Sterligovs and a small church made in the Byzantine-Georgian style. A real Gothic castle-palace that belonged to the princes Borozdin-Gagarin is especially popular with tourists. The castle-palace was built in 1907 for Princess Gagarina by the architect N.P. Krasnova. Today the building houses the administrative building of the Utes sanatorium. The park of the sanatorium is also of great interest to tourists, which is a unique monument of landscape gardening art of the 19th century. If you go a little to the west behind the Cliff, in the grove of Italian pines you can see another architectural monument - the mansion of the Raevsky princes in the Moorish style (now the building of the Karasan sanatorium).
