Photo and descriptionThe house-museum of academician A.N. Beketov in Professorsky lane of the city of Alushta was erected in the Moorish style in 1896. The author of the project was A.N. Beketov. The plot for the construction of the house was presented to the famous architect Beketov by his father, the famous Russian physical chemist N.N. Beketov. Also A.N. Beketov was the founder of the Kharkov architectural school. For a long time living in Crimea, the academician of architecture made a huge contribution to the development of Crimea as a resort. Its buildings have always harmoniously blended into the urban look and never disturbed the overall look of the existing picture. The opening of the house-museum of A.N. Beketov took place in November 1987 thanks to the initiative of V.P. Tsygannik, with the participation of Beketov's relatives and the support of the Alushta City Executive Committee. The museum was based on drawings, documents, photographs, paintings and graphics, personal belongings of the architect, household items, furniture. All this was transferred to the museum by the daughter of the architect E.A. Beketova and the grandson of F.S. Rofe-Beketov. Other relatives of the Beketov-Alchevskys from Yalta, Moscow and St. Petersburg also participated in the formation of the collection. Today the museum has over a thousand exhibits. The main section of the exposition tells about the life and work of Academician A.N. Beketov, his legacy in Ukraine and Crimea; about the role of the Alchevsky family in the history and culture of Ukraine and Russia. The house-museum has exhibition halls, which display works of painting by masters of the 19th - early 20th centuries, contemporary artists of Ukraine and Crimea. Also in the museum of academician A.N. Beketov a creative living room was opened. Artists, scientists, musicians, poets and writers meet here, literary, musical, Orthodox and living holidays are held in the old family traditions of the dacha. The house of the Beketov family is a monument of manor architecture. For 20 years of activity, this museum has become not only a cultural, but also a spiritual center of Alushta.
