The Museum of the underground partisan movement in Nikolayevshchina was founded in 1975 in the house where in 1941-1943. lived Hero of the Soviet Union Viktor Lyagin, who was also the head of the Nikolaev underground resistance center during the Second World War. The museum is located on Lyagina street, 5.

The ancient building of the late 19th century, which houses the museum today, is a monument of history and architecture of local importance, which is subordinate to the Nikolaev Regional Museum of Local Lore.
