This village has its own special atmosphere, which favorably distinguishes it from a number of similar settlements on the island. It is surrounded by beautiful landscapes - the lands around Peristeron are practically not cultivated, they are overgrown with wild flowers, lush shrubs, fruit and olive trees.

One of the most popular and visited places in the village is the Byzantine Museum of Arsinoe, which is located on the territory of the residence Bishop of Arsinois. The museum is open to the public every day except Sunday, and is famous for its unique collection of icons painted from the 13th to the 19th century. which has more than 60 copies. In addition, there you can see a variety of items used in the performance of church rituals - the attire of Orthodox priests, church utensils made of wood and precious metals, as well as old books and manuscripts on religious topics. All these exhibits were made not only on the territory of the city and the island - many of them were brought from other countries of the world. Among other things, you can also see unique jewelry made of precious metals in the museum.

Still, the icon depicting St. George the Victorious is rightfully considered to be the real gem of the museum collection. This masterpiece was painted in the 13th century and was brought to the museum from the village of Panaya.
