Photo and description

The Sagrada Familia is the main religious building of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint John's Basseterre and is located in the city of Saint John, Antigua and Barbuda. The cathedral was opened in January 1987.

The structure of the temple is a modern building in the form of an octagon at the base, with a tower in the center. There is a large cross on the tower; it is one of the largest external church crosses in the country. Inside, there is a state-of-the-art electronic synthesized bell system that rings back every hour and at ceremonial events.

In the cathedral, masses are served according to the Latin rite (Roman Catholic), however, on the feast of the Epiphany and the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Sunday mass is held according to the Byzantine rite (Greek Catholic).
