Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionThe Pskov-Peipsi lake, which is located in the northwestern part of the Pskov region, has become a popular natural reservoir. More than thirty rivers and small rivers flow into this lake, and the Narva River flows out of the lake and flows into the Gulf of Finland. The total area of the lake is 3521 sq. km. Throughout Europe, the Pskov-Peipsi Lake is the fourth largest. The length of the lake is 150 km, the width reaches 50 km; the average depth is about 7.1 m, but the maximum depth reaches 15.3 meters. The lake has 29 islands and is borderline, because 2100 sq. km of the entire reservoir are included in the territorial zone of the Pskov region, but the remaining 1412 sq. km belong to the state of Estonia. Pskov-Peipsi Lake has a particularly complex configuration, which includes three parts: the northern one, which occupies more than 73%, is Lake Peipsi itself, the southern one, which occupies 20%, is Lake Pskov, as well as the Teploe Lake connecting them with an intermediate link - about 7% of the territory. As you know, on April 5, 1242, on the ice of Lake Peipsi, the famous battle of the Russian troops of Prince Alexander Nevsky against the troops of the Livonian Order took place. One chronicler in his chronicle quite accurately determined the location of the Battle on the Ice. In his notes, he mentioned that the famous battle took place "on Uzmen, near the Voronei Kameni". At the same time, it is worth knowing that this recording was made according to the words of the participants in the battle themselves, who returned home after the long-awaited victory won, which is called "fresh memory." The entire post has three parts. The first part tells about the events that took place directly on Lake Peipsi, which provides a large-scale orientation. In the old days, Lake Pskov was also related to Lake Peipsi, which had no name. After some time, the lake was named Maloye Peipsi or Talabskoye Lake, and at a later time it was named Pskov Lake. The second part is called "On Uzmeni" and focuses on the narrowness, which today is called the Warm Lake. At the time of writing the chronicle, narrowness was considered one of the constituent parts of Lake Peipsi. The third part of the chronicle text contains an exact indication of the place on Uzmen - it was there that the battle called “at Voronei Kameni” took place. From the coast, the Pskov-Peipsi Lake looks a little pinkish, from the water - blue, and from the plane appears black. It is from the flight altitude that you can clearly see the spreading rectangle of the water surface, although not the entire water area of the lake is visible. The curving coastline echoes the light brown flat border - this is the place of coastal shallow water, and immediately behind it is a dark abyss, representing the cathedral, a large cliff of land flooded with water. In the Pskov-Peipsi Lake there are bottom sediments in the central parts of it, especially deep water. These deposits are composed of silts, which are visible in the coastal zone, or sands, clearly visible on the eastern, western, and especially on the southern coast of Lake Pskov. The lake water is unusually clear, which attracts numerous vacationers and lovers of natural recreation to these lands. People come to the shores of Lake Pskovsko-Peipsi who want a quiet rest, after all, it is in this place that you can truly enjoy the wonderful fresh air, as well as the extraordinary beauty of the surrounding places. Along the perimeter of the entire lake, many recreation centers, boarding houses, sanatoriums, hotels, as well as cottage complexes have been created, which are happy to see their tourists abandoning foreign resorts in favor of Russian recreation. Lake Pskovsko-Peipsi attracts fishing fans ... In the waters you can catch pike, walleye, roach, perch and other types of fish. In addition, it is possible to rent the necessary fishing equipment, as well as bicycles and boats. Hotels and modern boarding houses will provide a high level of service. On the lake you can have a great rest with family and children, while children can play in the playgrounds and have fun, taking part in competitions - all this has for an excellent pastime.
