Monument to Izhik description and photo - Russia - Volga region: Izhevsk. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionOn the day of national unity and the ninetieth anniversary of the statehood of Udmurtia - November 4, 2010, an unusual monument was solemnly unveiled on the central square of Izhevsk. The author of the idea, Nikolai Khaliullin, and the sculptor P. Medvedev named their creation - Izhik, who later became the mascot of the city. Izhik is a mischievous boy in a long-tailed caftan from the shoulder of his armourer father, a hoodie creeping on the ground. Such caftans were given to the best armourers in tsarist times. On Izhik's top hat is a bunch of mountain ash - one of the symbols of the city. The boy's height is one and a half meters, and he weighs more than 800 kg. The sculpture was created within the framework of the project “250 good deeds for the 250th anniversary of the city of Izhevsk”. All summer, the organizers of the project collected the keys, donated by residents of the city (about 20,000 unnecessary keys), from which the future talisman was cast at the Izhstal plant. Created on the basis of a doll and a logo, Izhik was ambiguously accepted by the local population, but the bulk still appreciated the author's creative ideas and established a tradition for well-being and prosperity in the family - to throw a coin on a hat to a mischievous person, and to newlyweds who want their first child, a boy, to touch together up to the nose of the little boy's cunning face. The metal sculpture of a boy - Izhik on the main square of Izhevsk in a short time has become a favorite attraction of city guests and the pride of the local population.
