Dudhsagar waterfall is located in the Bhagwan Mahavir nature reserve, which is located in the state of Goa, about 60 kilometers from the administrative center of North Goa - the city of Panaji. Dudhsagar is one of the hundred highest waterfalls in the world, and is one of the most significant attractions in Goa. It is a multi-level system with a total length of about 603 meters and a height of 310 meters.

This miracle of nature was named Dudhsagar, which literally translates as "milky ocean", due to the color of the water, which seems milky white. According to legend, in the jungle at the site of the waterfall there was a palace where the princess lived. She loved to swim in the nearby lake, and after swimming she drank sweet milk from a golden jug. Once, while swimming, the princess saw that a man was watching her through the foliage, and, wanting to hide her body from prying eyes, she poured milk into the water near her. To this day, the milky white spray of the waterfall called Dudhsagar reminds people of the princess's modesty.

You can get to the waterfall by train, bus or taxi, but this transport can only be reached to the reserve. The further path through streams and dense thickets will have to be overcome either by an SUV or on foot. But no difficulties can stop those who want to enjoy the beauty of this fabulous waterfall.

The best time to visit Dudhsagar Falls is during the winter months. Then neither the heat nor the monsoon rains that fall between June and September will not prevent you from experiencing all the charm of this place.
