When the river The Zambezi is deep, 7,500 cu. m of water passes through Victoria Falls in a second. The volume of water is so great and it rushes down with such power that a cloud of spray rising into the air can be seen even 40 km away. The local name of Victoria Falls - "Mosi-oa-tunya" - translates as "Smoke that thunders." In the spray of this majestic waterfall, a rainbow often plays, rising to a height of 300 m.
