Lore Lindou National Park is a protected forest area on the island of Sulawesi. The park is located in the province of Central Sulawesi and has the status of a national couple. The territory of the park is 2.180 sq. Km, it includes lowlands and mountain forests. The height of the park above sea level is different, ranging from 200 meters to 2610 meters.

The territory is home to a huge number of rare birds, of which 77 species are endemic to the island of Sulawesi. In addition to birds, animals such as the Tonka macaque, the Indonesian babirussa (this animal is also called the pig-deer), the pygmy tarsier and Diana tarsier (a species of primates), and possums live in the park.

Lore Lindou National Park is part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves within the framework of the UNESCO International Biological Program “Man and the Biosphere”. The park was created in 1982. The park was formed as a result of the connection of the existing reserves on the island - the Lore Kalamanta nature reserve, the recreation area and protected forest of Lake Lindu and the Lore Lindu wildlife reserve.

In addition to a variety of wildlife in this park, there are megaliths - huge structures of stone blocks that date back to 1300 AD. There are about 400 megaliths in the park, of which about 30 are sculptures in the form of a man.

The park is located 50 km from the city of Palu, the administrative center of the Central Sulawesi province. It is best to visit the park in July-September, as it rains the rest of the time. In general, up to 4000 mm of precipitation falls annually. The park is surrounded by 117 villages, 62 of them are located along the borders of the park,
