Photo and description

St. Sebald's Church was built in 1225-1379. A mixture of Romanesque and late Gothic styles can be observed in its architecture - two Gothic towers were completed only at the end of the 15th century.

In the center of the church there is a silver shrine where the relics of the city's patron Saint Sebald are kept. Around the 1397 silver reliquary there is a carved cast-iron canopy 1519 by Peter Fischer. Noteworthy is the magnificent 16th century baptismal font and the Tucher family tomb made by Hans von Kulmbach in 1513.
