Ivanov in the 1810s and designed by the architect V.I.Suranov, was used as a dwelling. In 1823, after Ivanov's death, the house was transferred to the treasury chamber of the Department of Salt and Mining Affairs. In 1837, the heir-Tsarevich Alexander Nikolaevich, who arrived in Saratov, stayed in the mansion with his retinue, which included the poet V.I. Zhukovsky, a close friend of A.S. Pushkin. During his stay in Saratov, Zhukovsky made several pencil sketches of the city that have come down to us, including Ivanov's house. In 1884, the house was rebuilt according to the project of M.N. Grudistov for the needs of the Saratov branch of the State Bank of the Russian Empire ... In 1908, in the presence of the Governor S.S. Tatishchev, a solemn ceremony of consecration of the operating room took place. Overlooking Konstantinovskaya (now Sovetskaya Street), a one-story building was built on a second floor in 1928 according to the project of the architect N.K. Usov.
