The Memorial House-Museum was founded in honor of the outstanding Ukrainian historian, academician DI Yavornytsky. It was here that the scientist lived and worked for 35 years of his life. From 1964-1974 a room-museum of D. Yavornitsky worked in the house. In 1970 the building was recognized as a historical monument of local importance, and since 2001 the house has been given the status of a monument of national importance.

D. Yavornitsky was designed by the famous architect - L. Branitsky. In this unique home, visitors will undoubtedly will be amazed by the architectural layouts of the rooms, which have been preserved in the form in which the owner created them. One of the rooms contains an extensive exposition about the life and work of the scientist. Visiting it, you can see personal belongings, photographs of D. Yavornitsky, icons, and also get acquainted with all his works. The museum has preserved a large number of documents and historical sources that belonged, first of all, to Dmitry Ivanovich himself. They are made up of several sections: autographs of D. I. Yavornitsky, "Russian Notebook" (1869), notebooks and working documents, archaeological documents, letters to D. I. Yavornitsky, as well as a decree on the perpetuation of the memory of the academician.

In his own house, D. Yavornitsky surrounded himself with such images, the love for which he carried through his whole life. This is evidenced by the unique murals on the lobby wall, which seem to stop a moment of history.

The Memorial House has retained a unique image of its owner's personality, immortalizes his greatest work in the field of science and culture of Ukraine.
