The city of Barnaul is home to a huge number of interesting monuments dedicated to various historical events and famous people. However, the most touching and unusual city monument can be called the monument to the famous actor - Charlie Chaplin. The monument is located not far from the railway station on Victory Square, behind the memorial. Previously, there was a fountain here. On the right side of the monument is the Mir entertainment complex.

The monument dedicated to the American film actor, screenwriter, composer, director and universal master of cinema - Charlie Chaplin, was erected on August 30, 2007. The initiator of the creation of the monument was the owner of a nearby entertainment club that bears the name of this actor. The author of this work is the architect Eduard Dobrovolsky, depicting a scene from the famous film "Circus" in 1928.
The composition consists of three figures: Charlie Chaplin, running away from an evil policeman, who holds a baton in his hand, and also a lady standing next to the old regime, who, imperiously throwing up her hand, filming this whole picture on camera.

According to the plot, the main character of Charlie Chaplin appeared in the circus troupe by chance and not at all to become a star. Just running away from an evil policeman, he accidentally found himself on the circus arena, making such a sensation that the director of this circus had no choice but to invite Chaplin to perform in circus performances.

The monument fell in love not only with local residents, but also guests of the city, and especially children. This funny composition makes you involuntarily smile and immediately sets you in a good mood. The monument to the famous comedian Charlie Chaplin in Barnaul is the only one not only in the city, but throughout Siberia.
