Photo and description

Oropos is a small resort port town in the municipality of the same name in East Attica. It is located on the southern coast of the Gulf of Euboea, opposite Eretrea, north of Athens. The area around Oropos is occupied by agricultural land with olive groves. To the south of the motorway lies the Parnitha mountain range.

Ancient Oropos was founded by colonists from Eretrea. In ancient times, this settlement was located on the border between Boeotia and Attica, and the rights to its possessions were a constant cause of disputes between the two states. In ancient Greece, oracles were highly respected, both politicians with important state issues and ordinary people turned to their help.

Beautiful clean beaches, excellent panoramic views and clean air, numerous taverns and restaurants with Mediterranean cuisine will make you have a great time and relax. Excellent water communication with the island of Euboea will allow not only to make an exciting boat trip, but also to explore one of the largest islands in Greece. It is noteworthy that the center of Athens is only an hour away by car. Thus, while relaxing in the cozy town of Oropos,
