Photo and description

Futuroscope is the second most visited amusement park in France after Disneyland. This park, opened in 1987 in the vicinity of Poitiers, is unusual: there are no trivial roller coasters, the main attractions are based on modern technologies and affect the human senses.

Already the appearance of buildings, erected mainly of metal and glass, surprises: a huge sphere sticks out from the roof of the Futuroscope pavilion, Tapi-Mazhik looks like a giant orga & aacute; n, Kinemax looks like grandiose crystals that have grown out of the ground ... Around - bridges, mechanisms, buildings of futuristic look. The visitor instantly tunes in to something extraordinary, and for good reason.

Several cinemas here show 3D films, but this is not just a movie: moreover, that viewers wear special glasses or helmets, and the chairs vibrate and sway in sync with what is happening on the screen. This creates an incredible effect: it seems to people that they really dodge giant insects, rush in a racing car, fly above the ground with birds, swim under water with ichthyosaurs, jump off a train at full speed. Not only children, but also adults at first instinctively cover themselves with their hands, stagger or try to touch something.

For those who do not want to sit in cinemas all day (in the third or fourth films, this entertainment may seem somewhat monotonous), there are other attractions. "Dancing with Robots" is very popular: huge robots move chairs with strapped brave souls at a height of seven meters to the beat of the music, which set the load level themselves - so that they are smoothly circled or rotated madly. "Journey in the Dark" shows the sighted how the blind perceive the world - through smells, sounds, and touch. In the "House without Carbon", the visitor imagines what the eco-friendly home of the future will look like. And the most desperate drink champagne or fruit mineral water in the Aerobar, swinging their legs in chairs at a height of almost 35 meters.

If children want to warm up in the fresh air, they can explore the green labyrinth, beat drums, ride cars, shooting at each other with water cannons - it's especially pleasant on a hot day.

Every year, one fifth of all attractions are updated, so you can come here regularly, there will always be something new. French language often becomes a problem for tourists - all films are shown in it. This is understandable: 94 percent of visitors are French. But many attractions do not require translation: you can climb a rope pyramid or ride a huge tricycle on a lake without knowing French. As well as admiring the fireworks of the water show, which begins at nightfall.
