Photo and description

Laspinsky pass is the highest point on the territory of the Yalta-Sevastopol highway. It is located 700 meters north of Laspinskaya Bay.

Many years ago, between Cape Aya and Mount Ilya, there was a valley that was distinguished by a large number of springs that “polluted” the land. In translation from Greek Laspi means "dirt", this feature is reflected in the name Laspi. Due to a strong earthquake in 1790, cracks appeared in the valley, through which the water left most of the springs. Gradually, the Laspi Valley became deserted.

There is a rock on the territory of the Laspi Pass, it is named after the famous writer Garin-Mikhailovsky. He made calculations for the construction of a highway through the Laspinsky Pass. An observation deck is built on the rock itself. The platform offers a wonderful view of Cape Aya and the bays of Laspi and Batiliman. Both of these bays are located in the villages of the same name, administratively they are subordinate to the city council of Sevastopol. The people of the Laspi and Batiliman bays are known as Crimean Africa, and all because there is constant dryness and the absence of winds.

The Laspi pass acts as a natural monument. A pleasant aroma of juniper is constantly felt here, old, evergreen trees provide clean air. At first glance, the chaos of stone in water may seem dangerous, but such a phenomenon as a storm is very rare here, and this place is a paradise for surfers. This area has very clean and transparent water, various fish, mussels and crabs live here, and the seabed is covered with algae.

1998 to 2003 a church and a chapel were built on the Laspi pass in honor of the 2000th anniversary of the Nativity of Christ. The architect of these structures was Grigoryan G.S.
