The hilly park is located in the northeastern part of the city on the banks of the Derwent River. It was created back in 1811, and in the 1860s it was declared the property of the residents of the city.

The main attraction of the park is the Government Building - a beautiful building that you should definitely admire. Another popular spot is the Royal Botanic Gardens of Tasmania, where you can see unique plants collected from around the world. It regularly hosts a variety of flower exhibitions. Another favorite place for tourists is Soldiers' Memory Avenue, created in memory of the soldiers who died during the First World War. 520 trees were planted along the avenue in 1918-19.
