Myeongdong Cathedral, whose full name is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is located on Myeongdong Street. Myeongdong Street is considered the main shopping street of Seoul, and is home to large financial firms, shops and four large department stores.

This is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Seoul. Archbishop of Seoul since 2012 - Korean Cardinal Andrei Yom Su Jung. Myeongdong Cathedral was dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who is considered the main patroness of the entire Korean people.
