Photo and description

Casa Rosada is the official residence of the President of Argentina. It is located in the center of Buenos Aires on the Plaza de Mayo. Casa Rosada is considered the workplace of the head of the country. Translated from Spanish, the name means "pink house".

Initially, a fort was built on the site where Casa Rosada now stands, and then a fortified castle, which later became the seat of the colonial authorities. Later, with each new president in power, the building underwent significant changes. It was painted pink in 1862 as a sign of reconciliation between the country's two main political parties. It is believed that the color pink originated from the historical custom of mixing bull's blood into paint for significant buildings.

Currently, despite the presence of the head of state, there are numerous excursions for tourists. Among the sights of the palace, one can distinguish the Cabinet of Rivalavia - this is the working residence of the president, named after the first head of state. The bust hall is famous for the busts of all the presidents of Argentina exhibited in it, the last in 2003 was the bust of Raul Alfonsin. The museum of the palace is located in the preserved rooms of the fort, it tells about the entire history of the building, which houses the residence of the president.
