Photo and description

Who has not seen the cult Soviet cartoon "Hedgehog in the Fog" ... There is hardly such a person, although many have already managed to grow up and become adults since 1975, when this cartoon. This truly outstanding work of director Yuri Norshtein, screenwriter Sergei Kozlov, artist Francesca Yarbuzova and actors Maria Vinogradova and Vyacheslav Nevinny could even gain international recognition, becoming the best film in the world in the entire history of animation.

Naturally, it is impossible not to pay attention to this cartoon, and sculptors Georgy Kurovsky and Vladimir Kolinko also decided not to stand aside. These two wonderful people have long been engaged in the ennobling of Kiev, cutting out all kinds of outlandish fish, ballerinas, heroes of fairy tales and so on from old hemp '' exotic. '' The monument to the Hedgehog in the Fog is also made according to the same principle - it is based on the trunk of a tree that has become unusable. When creating, the authors used an unusual technique - the barrel was tightened with a metal mesh, and then screws were fixed in it. Some tourists visiting this sight of Kiev even try to leave coins in the net. And although no one knows what they want to say by this, there is a version that this is done as a sign of a desire to return to the Hedgehog again.

The sculpture of the Hedgehog itself is made in such a way that it seems that he is just about where -that will now go, having risen from the hemp, on which he was sitting with a bundle. With this, the Hedgehog constantly looks up, perhaps he is looking there for the very ghostly horse that he saw in the fog? I guess it is, After all, one can guess about this by the name of the sculpture - contrary to the initially formed opinion, it is called not at all “Hedgehog in the Fog”, but ... “Horse”.
