The name in English is Cayman Farm. Photo and descriptionThe city of Iquitos is the administrative center of the Loreto region and the province of Mainas. It is one of the most popular locations in the Amazonian jungle. Although the city cannot be reached by land, this does not mean that tourists rarely visit it. Regular national flights constantly land at the airport of Iquitos, surrounded by the dense Amazon rainforest and several dozen river villages. The area has many nearby attractions that are relatively easy to visit on your own to see the spectacular jungle landscape. The farm can be reached in 45 minutes by boat downstream from the port of Bellavista Nanai in Iquitos. The private boat company Los Delfines transports local residents and tourists along the river in small boats for 4-5 people. The crocodile farm consists of several small lakes. One lake is home to about 10 large black caimans up to 5 meters long. Another lake is home to the Paiche (also called the giant arapaima, Brazilian arapaima, piraruku) from the aravan family - the largest freshwater fish in the Amazon, which reaches a length of more than 2.5 meters and weighs over 250 kg. Large freshwater turtles and waterfowl also live in the lakes. Visitors to the farm are invited to feed the local alligators, pike and turtles with small fish using special devices. Small lakes of the farm are covered with giant lilies Victoria Amazonian or Victoria regia - this is the largest water lily in the world and one of the world's most popular greenhouse plants. The huge leaves of the water lily grow up to 1.5 m in diameter.
