Almaty Railway Museum description and photos - Kazakhstan: Almaty. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionThe railway museum in the city of Alma-Ata was opened in 1999 on the basis of the private collection of the honorary veteran railroad worker Beisen Shormakov. Initially, there were not so many exhibits, but the hard work and efforts of all employees made the collection of the museum filled and interesting. The museum's exposition clearly illustrates the history of the development of railway transport in Kazakhstan. The first hall tells about the life of the Kazakh people and about the caravan routes, which in the future will become a busy railway. The next development milestone was the construction of the railway, and in the museum you can see the real tools of the workers of those times. One of the halls contains a variety of models that illustrate all historical events, related to the development of railway traffic in Kazakhstan, as well as a detailed evolution of vehicles. On the second floor you can see the personal belongings of the railway workers and archival documents related to the construction of railways. In addition, there is an extensive collection of railway badges. A separate part of the exhibition tells about the means of communication between stations at a time when modern technical equipment did not yet exist, and about the security system that was then in place to avoid train collisions. How all these technical systems worked, and the devices will be shown and told by the museum guides.
