The campus of the Autonomous State University of Mexico (UNAM), the largest university in the Americas by student population, is located in the south of the Mexican capital.

Built in the style of modernism of the last century, it really resembles a separate city and is considered a separate area of the city. It even has its own buses that run through the town. Its construction was completed in 1954. The famous architects Domingo Garcia Ramos, Enrique del Moral, Mario Pani and others took part in the construction.

The authors of the panels that are on almost every wall are the famous communists David Siqueiros and Diego Rivera. The style in which the buildings are decorated is more reminiscent of the buildings of the CIS countries, rather than the architecture of capitalist Mexico.
