Photo and description

The manor and park complex in the village of Borisovshchina was built at the end of the 19th century for the owner of the estate, Felix Yastrzhembsky, a representative of an old Polish family.

The park together with the garden, located on two terraces, occupies 18 hectares. A wide linden alley runs from the gate to the manor house. The fruit garden is surrounded by a high brick fence. The Master's House is a one-story building that was once surrounded by beautiful exotic trees and bushes. To the east of the house is a neogothic-style water pump building. Behind the house there were outbuildings: a glacier, an oil churn, a steam mill, a distillery, an outbuilding.

From the manor house one could go down a wide staircase to the lower terrace, where a pond was dug and water canals were laid, which served both to decorate the park and to drain water to drain the swampy lowland. Graceful bridges were thrown across the canals, comfortable paths were laid along the banks.

Once a large prosperous estate Borisovshchina was a beautiful natural corner. Exotic trees brought from Kiev, Warsaw, and Riga were planted in the park.

Unfortunately, without proper care, everything fell into disrepair. Exotic plants died, overgrown canals and lost contact with the river, which made the lower terrace swampy. Wonderful manor buildings have been destroyed. One can only guess what Borisovshchina looked like during the years of its prosperity. Unfortunately, the restoration of the old manor-park complex is not planned yet.
