Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionIn St. Petersburg, on Nevsky Prospekt, there is a youth drama theater (Theater for Youth Creativity, TYuT), which belongs to the Palace of Youth Creativity in St. Petersburg (formerly the Zhdanov Palace of Pioneers). The main goal of the theater is to bring up a harmonious personality, regardless of whether the young pupil of TYuT connects his future fate with the theater or not. Today 250 teenagers are engaged in the theater. The age of the children is from 10 to 18 years old. The theater has its own stage with serious professional equipment. Teenagers are engaged in 20 creative groups and in 10 groups, in which they study the basics of the guild theatrical professions: make-up artist, costume designer, illuminator, decorator, etc. Lesson in one of the shops of your choice is mandatory for every tyutovite. The theater has its own traditions, various evenings are constantly held there, pupils, together with teachers, go on trips, to recreation camps. The youth theater was founded in 1956 by the director of the children's theater Matvey Grigorievich Dubrovin. Initially, classes were held in the premises of the art department of the Palace of Pioneers. There was also a stage and a spectator theater for 70 people. Large performances of TYuT were staged on the stage of the Theater of Folk Art. In 1985, the theater found its home in a new five-story building. The young actors have at their disposal two stages with the best equipment in St. Petersburg. The performances are held on a small stage in the auditorium for 137 seats. The founder of the theater M. Dubrovin put forward a theory about the complex education of a young personality through theatrical art, widely used the teaching methods of Makarenko. In a professional theater, everything is built on a kind of vertical: at the top, on the stage - the director and actors, and the foundation, the foundation of the troupe - are the workers of the theater shops (props, lighting, make-up artists, etc.). In the youth theater, this vertical did not exist at all. Here all professions are paths to the performance. And the hands of each of the young actors create something that is a contribution to the common cause - a performance. This saved the guys from star fever and unnecessary self-confidence. In TYuT it was impossible - today you shine on stage, and tomorrow you work behind the scenes in the workshop. The theater was self-governing. The pedagogical council worked together with the theater council, where the children themselves chose worthy ones by voting. When M. Dubrovin passed away in 1974, the theater did not stop its work. New performances were staged, the guys went on tour. Traditions have been preserved. This became possible due to the fact that most of the teachers themselves were TYuT graduates. Thanks to this, the continuity of generations has also been preserved. The second head of TYuT was a pupil of Dubrovin E.Yu. Sazonov. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the theater, the Tyutovites created and published the book "In the Circle of Matvey Dubrovin", which included the stories of Dubrovin's first pupils about their teacher. To enter TYuT you need pass three qualifying rounds: tell a fable, a poem, perform a musical or song number. In addition, the commission may ask to play a sketch-improvisation. Registration for entry begins in early September. During the first year, newbies are called studio. Classes are held 3 times a week: 2 times acting lessons, 1 time - workshop. At the end of the year, each studio plays its first performance. At the end of the first year after the first premiere, the students are solemnly ordained to Tyutovites. The repertoire of the Theater of Youth Creativity includes staging works of Russian and foreign classics, contemporary authors.
