Photo and description

The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was founded on May 8, 1903 and built under the leadership of priest Jan Krasovsky in 1906 in the neo-Gothic style on the site of a burnt-out wooden church. The interior decoration of the church continued until 1912, when, at last, the solemn consecration of the church and the main altar took place. The consecration was made by Metropolitan of Minsk-Mogilev Vincent Klyuchinsky.

During the Soviet era, when religion was banned, the church was closed in 1935. During the Nazi occupation, the new authorities opened all churches, including the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. After the end of the war, the temple was again closed by representatives of the Soviet Power. The building was transferred to the municipal services of the city of Bobruisk.

In 1958, the most beautiful high bell tower and, in part, the facade of the church were destroyed. A five-story building for household needs was added to the neo-Gothic church. In this form, the church has survived to this day. The entrance to the temple is located inside a five-story building.

In 1989, the temple was transferred to the Catholic Church, restoration work began. In 1990, the temple was re-consecrated. In 2012, the church already has over a thousand parishioners. In honor of the centenary of the illumination of the temple, bronze figures of the Way of the Cross were installed. The solemn ceremony was attended by Archbishop Metropolitan of Minsk-Mogilev Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz. He consecrated the bronze figures installed the day before.
