Bavarian National Museum (Bayerisches Nationalmuseum) description and photos - Germany: Munich. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photographs and a map showing the nearest significant objects. The title in English is Bayerisches Nationalmuseum. Photo and descriptionThe collection of the Bavarian National Museum originates from an exhibition held in 1885 in the Duke Max Fortress, the area of which soon became cramped. The requirements for a historical museum were then put into practice by the architect Gabriel von Seidl. The interior of the museum complex, built in 1894-1900, stylistically repeats those eras whose works are exhibited in the halls, and the exterior in terms of architectural forms and style of construction is completely opposite to the internal content. The museum's exposition includes two large collections : folk art and art history. The department of applied arts displays crystal products, furniture, and Christmas scenes with numerous characters.
