The Arktikum Museum is both a museum and a research center that explores the Arctic and northern regions. It presents the history, way of life, as well as the culture, traditions and life of the peoples living in the Arctic Circle. Under the amazingly beautiful roof of Arktikum, home to the Arctic Science Center and the Regional Museum of Lapland, there is a permanent exhibition showing the nature of these harsh places both in the past and today. While visiting the museum, you can see the northern lights at the Polar Theater, specially built to demonstrate this phenomenon.
