Photo and description

The Museum of Indonesia is an anthropological and ethnological museum, which is located on the territory of the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah cultural and entertainment complex. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is translated as "Beautiful Indonesia in miniature." This ethnographic park covers an area of 250 acres and consists of pavilions, each of which depicts the life of a separate Indonesian province.

The Museum of Indonesia owns a collection that tells visitors about the historical past of ethnic groups that inhabit the archipelago, demonstrates the cultural heritage of these groups. The exposition of the museum presents traditional and modern art, collections of handicrafts and traditional costumes from different parts of Indonesia.

The main building of the museum consists of three floors, according to the religious concept of Tri Hita Karana, common among the indigenous inhabitants of Bali. The concept consists of three principles: harmony with divine forces, nature and people. The ground floor displays a collection of traditional and bridal clothing from 27 provinces in Indonesia. In addition, there are exhibits that tell about traditional dances, Wayang and Gamelan. The exhibition on the second floor of the museum will tell about the traditional houses, religious buildings and rice fields in Indonesia. On the third floor, textiles are displayed, for example, from songket fabric (traditionally woven by hand using gold and silver threads), from Balinese batik, metal and wood items. Wood products amaze with their intricate patterns, and the most interesting and valuable exhibit is a wooden sculpture of the Kalpataru tree - the tree of desires in Hindu mythology. The sculpture is 8 meters high and 4 meters wide.
