Photo and description

The Rambut Sivi Temple is located between Negara and Medevi Beach. Negara is a settlement that is the capital of Jimbaran District, located in the western part of Bali.

Negara is a medium-sized town with wide streets and many mosques. Perhaps the most amazing and emotional event in this city is considered to be the traditional buffalo race, driven by jockeys - mekepung. They are organized by the local authorities in August and somewhere between September and November, when there is no rain.

Another local attraction that attracts tourists is the ancient Rambut Sivi temple beautifully located on the coast. This temple is considered one of the largest Hindu temples in Bali. The temple stands on a rock with stunning views of the Indian Ocean and rice fields.

At one time, the temple was restored and moved to the top of the mountain for the convenience of worshiping the deity. The temple is under the protection of local authorities who make sure that all technical work is carried out on time. With the support of the authorities, religious ceremonies are held in the temple.

Local residents sincerely believe that every temple on the island keeps some kind of secret, and Rambut Sivi is no exception. In translation, the name of the temple sounds like "Temple of the worship of the curl". The history of the creation of the temple goes back to the 16th century, when the Hindu priest Nirartha stopped at this place during his wandering and declared this place holy. Leaving this place, he left a lock of his hair to the villagers, who later built a temple on this site and named it Pura Rambut Sivi.

The building of the temple is very beautiful, located near the main road leading to Gilimanuk. Balinese traveling in this direction stop at the temple to perform a religious ceremony and receive a blessing.
