Elgar loved this house very much and throughout his life came here many times and spent a lot of time here. Shortly before his death, he expressed his wish to his daughter that if any memorial was erected in his honor, let it be at the house in Brodheath. The house-museum contains a unique collection of documents, manuscripts, photographs and personal belongings of the composer.
