Photo and description

The Ethnographic Museum of Cortina d'Ampezzo is also located in the historic Chaza de ra Regoles building in the heart of the resort town. Its collection includes antiques related to the rural life of the region, as well as exhibits that tell about the religious traditions of the Ampezzo Valley and its artistic heritage. Particular attention is paid to the life of the peasants of these places.

Previously, the museum occupied the premises of an old sawmill, but in 1975 it moved to the Chaz de ra Regole building, also known as Regole d'Ampezzo, where it is located on two floors. Part of the museum space is devoted to thematic exhibitions with their priceless artifacts of folk arts and crafts - wooden mosaics, silver filigree, wrought iron products and antique costumes. There is also a classroom where lectures are held.

The main goal of creating an ethnographic museum was to show visitors how, as a result of making certain decisions, the cultural spaces that Cortina d'Ampezzo amazes with today were formed. - its forests and pastures. In addition, the museum's expositions help to understand how life developed in the Ampezzo Valley over the centuries and how ancient traditions and customs were preserved through joint efforts, as well as how the centuries-old interaction between man and nature was carried out.
