Photo and descriptionThe Kanangra-Boyd National park is located 100 km west of Sydney on the territory of the Great Blue Mountains UNESCO World Heritage Site. The most famous attractions of the national park are the 150-meter waterfalls of Kanangra Falls and the well-known Kanangra Walls. The latter have appeared more than once in various adventure films. There are two types of landscapes on the territory of the Kanangra Boyd park - the majestic hilly Boyd plateau and the terrain, indented by rivers, gorges and mountain ranges. The plateau is crossed by the Canangra Walls road, so you can get to the park both from the town of Oberon and from the famous Jenolan Caves. Other well-known attractions in the park include Cloudmaker Mountain and the sharp peaks of Turat. There are several hiking trails in the park, including the Sightseeing Trail - the most accessible, including for people in a wheelchair. The 10-minute trail leads to the observation deck, which offers stunning views of deep gorges, the summit of Cloudmaker and the Blue Mountains in the distance. From another observation deck, you can admire the Kanangra Falls. From here, along a special trail, you can go down to the valley, where waterfalls fall into a pond. And along the Path-on-Plateau, starting at the main observation deck, you can get to the vast Boyd Plateau, overgrown with heather.
