Photo and description

The Bicentennial Park of Australia is located on the shores of Homebash Bay, 16 km west of Sydney. 100 hectares of the park territory are occupied by ecologically important wetlands, included in the list of natural heritage, another 40 hectares are given directly to the recreational zone. Here you can take part in one of the ecological tours that introduce you to the nature of these places, watch sports competitions or just lie on the lawn under the spreading crowns of trees. There are several picnic areas in the park, walking and cycling paths, and playgrounds for children. Among the attractions of the park are Lake Belvedere, the Peace Monument, the Lattice Tower, the Sundial, the Silent Hearts Memorial Garden and other attractions. Powells Creek flows in the eastern part of the park.

Bicentennial Park was created in the 1980s to commemorate the Bicentennial of Australia's founding, which was celebrated in 1988. The project envisaged the transformation of the 47.4 hectare landfill into a recreational area and the protection of 53 hectares of wetlands on the Parramatta River. Today, Homebash Bay is home to animals that thrive in its salty waters and on its shores.
