Photo and description

Mount Malovitsa is one of the most important centers of mountain tourism and mountaineering in Bulgaria, as it is here that the Training Center for mountaineers-instructors and ski instructors is located. This Center is widely known both within the country and in Europe as a whole.

The mountain is located in the northwestern part of the Rila mountain range, at the foot of the Mecha Polyana river valley. The height of Malovitsa is 2729 meters. The distance of the resort of the same name from Sofia is 92 kilometers, from Borovets - 40 kilometers.

The Malovitsa mountain range also hides one of the most beautiful lakes in Bulgaria with emerald-colored water - Strashnoto.

The resort attracts tourists by many reasons: snow lasts here from December to April, the weather is stable, moderately frosty, and the modern equipment of the trails and marked paths for mountaineering make Malovitsa the best place for winter outdoor activities.

You can climb the mountain both with the help of modern lifts (there are 5 of them), and on foot, but time-consuming in this case will be at least 2-3 hours. There are specially marked paths for walking ascents, as well as bungalows for recreation are equipped on one of the ascent lines.

The total length of the ski slopes is 4 kilometers. Each track has its own name and difficulty level. For example, the longest is the "black track" - 1.2 kilometers long. All mountain slopes in the resort are equipped with modern drag lifts.
