Photo and description

The Dudutki Museum of Folk Crafts and Technologies is located 40 kilometers from Minsk. The museum began with a farm. The old gentry estate went to the businessman Budinas E.D. In 1992 he was given a large plot of land, where he began to farm. An inquisitive farmer became interested in the historical past of his fiefdom and found out that once there was the Dudichi estate, famous throughout the district for colorful holidays and rich craft fairs. As a result of the fruitful cooperation of historians and a farmer, the open-air museum of Dudutki was born.

Dudutki is a large museum and tourist complex. It includes museum rooms, craft workshops, a farm, several establishments where they serve delicious national food, a hotel complex and even the only legal private production of moonshine in the country. In Belarus, the monopoly on the production of alcohol belongs to the state, but an exception was made for the Dudutki complex so that visitors to the open-air museum could see a picture of an old noble estate of the 19th century and a rich prosperous village in its entirety.

Despite the fact that all the exhibits of the Dudutki museum are historically accurate, you can touch them with your hands, feel, smell and even taste them! In the manor house, the interiors and life of the rich gentry have been recreated. In rural huts such a situation reigns that it seems as if the owners went out for a minute and are about to return. The tables in the taverns are full of delicious food prepared according to old national recipes. Even beer and moonshine are made here according to recipes, told by the old-timers. The process of making a strong drink can be seen and tasted.

At the time of the Dudichi estate, the local fair was considered rich - it was held every month on the new moon. Today the fair is held in Dudutki every day. Everything produced by local artisans and brought by wealthy merchants can be purchased.

The Dudutki Folk Crafts Museum revives old crafts. Here you can see how the masters work and learn for yourself. There are master classes in pottery, weaving, basket weaving and other interesting applied arts.

There is a smithy, a mill, a bakery, its own small menagerie, a museum of ancient automotive technology and, of course, a cozy, cute village church - completely wooden.

Far outside Belarus, Dudutki are famous for their folk and medieval festivals. Participants and guests from all countries come here to show themselves and see others. Listen to real Belarusian, Polish, Lithuanian music, fight in a knightly duel, take part in a competition of well-aimed archery, see a reconstruction of an ancient battle, rite or holiday.

You can come to Dudutki with the whole family. Anyone here will find interesting things to do and get a lot of impressions and pleasure from the trip.
