Today, the Church of the Ascension of the Lord is an amazingly beautiful five-domed temple with a large central dome, made in the form of an elongated cross, and a three-tiered bell tower located above the western vestibule. The walls of the church are of considerable strength and thickness; they were made of old bricks and wild stones.
