Photo and description

St. Petra is located very close to the Marienplatz square. This is the oldest church in the city. The modern church dates back to the 14th century and was heavily rebuilt in the 17th century, but a Christian church has stood on this site for a long time.

The architectural style of the building harmoniously combines elements of the Baroque and late Gothic. The interior of the temple is made in the Baroque style: the majestic choir, the magnificent decoration of the main altar, the gilded pulpit, the painting of the ceiling and dome.

The height of the church bell tower is 91 meters. It is popularly called Old Peter. It has an observation deck with a magnificent view of Munich.
