Photo and description

The village of Zakharovo has existed since the beginning of the 17th century, but changed its owners many times. In 1804, it was acquired by the grandmother of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin - Maria Alekseevna Hannibal. The Pushkin family came here in early spring and returned to Moscow in late autumn. On the bank of the Zakharovsky pond, there was a huge linden tree, near which, as they said, little Pushkin liked to sit on a semicircular bench.

M.A. Hannibal parted with Zakharov almost immediately after the departure of his grandson to the Lyceum in the same 1811. It passed into the family of her sister Agrafena Alekseevna. Her grave in Bolshiye Vyazemy was next to the grave of the poet's brother Nikolai, who died in Zakharov.

At the end of the 19th century. the Russian public raised the issue of acquiring Zakharov into state ownership, how it became with Mikhailovsky. But there was no money, and the estate continued to remain private property, and at the turn of the 20th century. lost the old Pushkin house. A new house was built on the previous foundation, architecturally repeating the house of Pushkin's time.

After the revolution, the estate fell into decay. At first, it housed an orphanage, then a pioneer camp and newspaper editorial offices. Only in 1987 it was decided to create the State Historical and Literary Museum-Reserve of A.S. Pushkin on the basis of the estates Zakharovo and Bolshaya Vyazemy.

Every year, on the first Saturday of June, the Pushkin Festival is held in Zakharovo.
