The building of the Art Gallery (Kunsthalle) in Bern was built in 1917-18. on the initiative of the Kunsthalle Bern Association. It was intended to host a wide variety of art exhibitions. In October 1918, a local newspaper wrote: “Bern has become a city of art.”
