And yet there are also interesting places here that are worth seeing. One of these places is the site with the old tower of San Vicente. The tower of San Vicente was built in the 16th century in the Renaissance style. It was one of eighteen watchtowers located along the coast of the entire province of Castellon, where Benicasim is located. For a long time, the town of Benicasim has been raided and attacked from the sea. Thanks to its favorable location, Benicassim quickly became one of the favorite landing sites for corsairs. And to protect the port from pirate ships, the city authorities decided to build a tower here, which was supposed to carry out defensive functions.
