The thermal spa Bad Voeslau is located 35 km from Vienna in the Vienna Woods. Since the beginning of the 19th century, this ancient town has been famous for its healing mineral springs, the most famous of which is called Feslauer. Its water, raised from a depth of 660 meters, fills the pools of the famous Thermalbad Veslau. Bathing in local life-giving water helps with diseases of the nervous system, musculoskeletal system and heart. In addition to the pools, the sanatorium, which is considered one of the attractions of Bad Voeslau, has a variety of saunas and a vegetarian restaurant. The complex "Thermalbad Voeslau" is located in the middle of a luxurious park.

The ancient Romans knew about the beneficial effects of the local mineral water. The first written mention of the village of Feslau occurs in 1136 in the records of a monk of the Augustinian monastery in Klosterneuburg. In those days there was only a castle with a water moat. This fortress was captured and destroyed by Matthias Korvin in 1453 and rebuilt again during the Reformation.

In 1773, the Feslau family became the owners of the Fries family, one of the most influential in the Vienna court. It is to them that the city of Voeslau should be grateful for its flourishing and development. According to the project of the court architect J. F. Hetsendorf, the local water castle was rebuilt and expanded here. Currently, it is occupied by the mayor and city officials.

In the 19th century, the city lived off the work of several textile factories, and from the second half of the 19th century - thanks to foreign tourists. Another source of income for local residents was the production of red wine. You can still taste local wines in the local restaurants.

In 1924 Voeslau was recognized as a thermal resort. The first baths were built here in 1822. In addition to thermal springs, climatic caves were discovered in the vicinity of the town.

Among the sights of the town are the ruins of the Merkenstein fortress of the XII century and the parish church of St. James, built in 1860-1868.
